I have been actively involved with refugees since 2015. Of course I knew about their existence, but in Greece my eyes and my heart were opened. We turned out to be no different from each other except that they had to leave everything behind. Most of them turned out to be extremely resilient, which inspired and motivated me to get the best out of myself.
I have worked with people in my own practice for 35 years and everything I learned there is useful now, especially people skills, listening with an open heart and not judging. It feels like a blessing and an honor to be able to get so close to people who have gone through so much. The work appeals greatly to my heart because the suffering is often so intense. Heartwarming and heartbreaking appear to be close together and experiencing its depths has expanded and deepened my heart and life. I am extremely grateful that I’m allowed to do this work.
It is also great fun to work with Hans and Eluna; we are a great team together! And I am very happy with my extended family: such wealth!
